Classes at the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design

klass

In May, students from grades 9K, 10A, and 11A at Tallinn Haabersti Gymnasium visited the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design for museum lessons focused on sustainable design and the circular economy. The sessions were very interesting and educational, as the students were able to view everyday objects from a completely new perspective. At the beginning of the session, they learned about the museum’s activities and how to distinguish between design and applied art. The most exciting part was the hands-on group work. The students analyzed various design solutions and discussed how to make them more sustainable and environmentally friendly. They realized that good design isn’t just about a beautiful appearance, but also about responsibility toward nature and the future.

The museum lesson also helped develop their Estonian language skills. Students worked in groups, presented their ideas, and learned new words related to the environment, design, and technology. This experience was very beneficial and encouraged the young people to think more about a sustainable future and conscious consumption.
